Wisdom is a highly valued skill within Muslims and non-Muslims throughout history. Allah the Almighty has taught us that wisdom is a praiseworthy quality in any individual.
Allah mentions in Surah Baqarah verse 269
He gives wisdom to whom He wills, and whoever has been given wisdom has certainly been given much good. And none will remember except those of understanding.
Explanation
The last part of this ayah means that only those who have knowledge will carry out the excellence of wisdom. It is as if knowledge has been made a condition for true ultimate wisdom. It is for this reason we should try to take wisdom from knowledgeable people such as the Ulama and develop our personal wisdom by studying.
I start the wisdom corner with a poem of a wise man which should lead us to deep thinking and reflection insha’Allah.
لو كنت لا تدري فتلك مصيبة
If you don’t know (something) that’s a problem
وإن كنت تدري فتلك مصيبة أعظم
And if you know that’s a bigger problem
If a person does not have the knowledge of something then he or she may be excused in the court of Allah but those who possess the knowledge have a bigger burden and responsibility to adhere to that knowledge.
Amazing… maa shaa Allah
